Bernadette’s experience in the food industry was acquired over 35 years of service with the World’s Largest Foodservice Distributor. The first half of her career she worked at the local Houston Operating Company developing her skill set. The second half of her career was spent at their world headquarters and corporate offices working in the Contracted Sales department. It was there where she gained her vast experience working with large National and International clients in many business segments such as; Lodging, Gaming, Healthcare, Convention Centers, Airlines, Stadiums, Universities/Colleges, Catering, Cafeteria’s, National Restaurant chains, Concessionaire & Theme Park industries to just name few. The Lodging and Gaming industries have always been her passion. Working with some of the top chefs in the food industry, listening to their needs and inventing ways to meet them. Executive Chefs are their own brand and demand TOP quality, PERIOD. One of Bernadette’s major focus areas has been generating symbiotic relationships between the retail segments represented above and the highly competitive food manufactures.
For 9 years, she had been a driving force, architect, planner and the boots-on-the ground in executing and developing a larger presence in the Gaming Segment. Working closely with the Regional Vice President of Indian Gaming and the National Vice President of Lodging and Gaming to transform the companies’ presence in the Industries largest trade show into in Epic booth, where it was by invitation only to experience the extravaganza on display at the annual G2E Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas. This show brings together key food producers with their Casino and Hotel clients to meet the foodservice needs of their public clients and internal company clients.
Since her retirement, Bernadette has provided consulting services locally to many segments she was previously familiar with. One of her clients was a local catering company, which refreshed her local contacts in event planning and renewed her passion for serving the retail level customer. She has gone from selling French fries to mom-and pop restaurants in the 5-county area around Houston Texas to delighting corporate level accounts doing hundreds of millions of dollars in business. However, the mom-and-pop restaurants still remember her passion, dedication and commitment to following through on her promises, which ultimately transformed into her client’s success.
Lastly, Bernadette was a key functional leader in the coordination of a massive product cutting/presentations for a large corporate and global prospective customer. It was against other competing national distributors, it was here where Bernadette was able utilize all of her experiences in working with world renowned Executive chefs and many Quality Assurance teams from the various protein manufactures, along with product specialists from the top beef, seafood, pork and veal companies to formulate a competitive edge for her company, which translated into a huge WIN for the enterprise!
